Emmanuel Baptist Church of Fort McMurray
Description:
An independent, fundamental christian church located in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Objective:
Design and develop a website to help reach the people in Fort McMurray. As well to inform Fort McMurray about who the Emmanuel Baptist Church is and what their beliefs are.
Requirements:
I had to be careful with the use of images. In religion the use of images
can represent a religious belief, denomination, stereo-type etc. I was asked
to steer clear of any images that could potentially label the church.
Convert hard copy documents into binary data. Meaning, take written works and
translate them into text for the web.
Optimize and submit the website to major search engines, and aim for placement
in the top 30 search results.
Solutions:
I used graphics to add visual appeal to the website all the while meeting the
requirement of not using images that could label the church.
I used software and computer equipment to quickly convert the hard copy text
documents into computer copies. After which the text was easily added to the
website.
I optimized the website, submitted to major search engines and to some directories.
Final Product:
The Emmanuel baptist church is happy with the website. Expectations were met and some were exceeded. At the time of this writing the website ranked in the top 3 results returned for more than one targeted search phrase in Google and Yahoo. With many results returning #1 placements.
